One year-12 months; sounds less but sometimes it can feel like it takes a myriad of ages. This was 2022 for me! The end of the year really gave a kick to my life. This year was the year that made me happier than ever. My term 2 English Assessment task, the way I met my new best friend at school and how I started creating an impossibly possible costume. Those were the three things that stood out best for me in 2022.
In my term 2 English assignment I had to create a poem, specifically a ballad. I created a beautiful ballad on how good will always defeat evil. It took what almost felt like endless hours and I worked my fingers to the bone to complete that task. I was confident I would get one of the best grades in the class, but I ended up getting one of the worst. The teacher who had marked my work had a totally different perspective, at least for me, otherwise she wouldn’t have given me such bad marks. On the other side of the rainbow, my English teacher loved it and so did my tuition teacher.
Time travel to the very beginning of the year. It was the first day of my new high school, when I was connecting my laptop with the internet… I was waiting for the teacher’s help and a kind girl asked me to help her, so I did. The next day when we were shown to our new classrooms, everyone chose their chairs and it was only me and that girl who were left. So we decided to sit at the same table. At that time I didn’t recognize her, but from that day our friendship just grew and grew. If you see us nowadays, you’ll be sure to say we are inseparable!
Talk about the school holidays, some might say hooray and others meh! But when it comes to me I could be the biggest lover of school holidays. I took up a new challenge these school holidays,a really big sewing challenge, making a Belle costume from scratch, for myself. At first everything seems easy but when you get to it, you curse yourself 20 million times within a millisecond! But if you know me, the crazy person I am, I would do it without hesitation. Believe it or not I spent over 500 dollars on it and I am still not done with it. Imagine going to school wearing it on the book week dress up day, those eyes would be on me.
Those were the snippets of 12 months in my life titled ‘2022’, that I would look back one day in the middle of January and wonder, what did happen in 2022?
