Radhe-Krishna is an unparalleled love story.
It is the story of Radha and Krishna– a story that transcends all ages, time and reason.
The Reincarnations
Paramavatar Shri Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born to Devaki and Vasudeva in the jail of Mathura, on a stormy night. When the Yamuna was at its highest, he was carried in a basket in the middle of the night, to the unknown city, Gokul where the golden years of his childhood were spent. It was during this time that he met Radha.
With the power of excellence in all sixty-four virtues, Krishna attracted everyone around him with his angelic mystical presence. And then came Radha, whose presence intrigued Krishna, the Lord himself. If Krishna was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu- the Preserver, Radha was the incarnation of Maha Lakshmi– an epitome of love and devotion.
The First Meeting
Radha somehow could never explain the unsaid attraction towards a tune played on the flute by Krishna or how she could just find her way to him. The first time they met, it was in the market of Barsana, Radha’s village.
‘Who are you?’ She questioned and he smiled.
Shaking his head, he insisted on knowing her name first.
‘Radha.’
Radha, the name associated with infinite love. The name that brought him peace, the name that touched a chord in his heart and stayed there forever.
Then he said, ‘Krishna, my name is Krishna.’
The name felt familiar to Radha. What was it about the name? It drew her in. His eyes spoke volumes. Capable of holding the universe in them, his eyes bewitched Radha.
The Eternal Love Story
This began the eternal love story- the story of a love that has fascinated people for more than 4000 years. Theirs is a love that is worshipped, venerated and idolised.
As they spent more time together, it brought them closer.
With Radha’s head resting on Krishna’s shoulder, Krishna played the most mellifluous melodies on his flute that used to stir up the whole village. Radha’s presence was the music of Krishna, Krishna’s companionship- her privilege. With their hands entwined, they knew one thing for sure, they were meant for each other.
They were Radhe-Krishna, only complete WITH each other.
