“There is real value in sharing moments that don’t live forever,” says Evan Spiegel and only a fool would disagree with him. Imagine chatting with a friend even when you are not around them. For our grandparents, it must be a dream come true but for our generation, it’s a reality! How? Because we have ‘Social Media’. Thanks to social media, we can share moments and create memories with friends and relatives worldwide which was not possible 20 years ago. Although ‘Social Media’ serves as such a wonderful connecting medium, there are people who believe that ‘Social Media’ is not a good thing. But, I definitely believe that Social Media is the BEST thing that has happened till date!
Entertainment
Firstly, I want you to visualize yourself being on a bus, that too alone and that too without your phone. Can you imagine your boredom? But wait, what if you had your phone? Would social media come to the rescue? OF COURSE, it would. Social media is the number one key to entertainment and you will surely agree with me! With all the innovative creators present online who post delightful content, it is very difficult to get bored. And if you don’t want to watch anything, you can always chat with a friend even if you are in the middle of a noisy crowd.
Income
The second appeal of ‘Social Media’ arises from the fact that it has become a great income source for many. Different creators present online create unique content and various people love to watch them. Now what if you were one of those creators? You keep posting videos on videos and finally, people start recognising you. You get tons of followers and may even start making money. I can see you smiling and surely who doesn’t love money these days? Hence, we find that social media has become a great professional choice for many youngsters who are camera-friendly, vociferous and have something to share with the world. It not only makes your popularity grow but also helps you connect with an enormous amount of people. Moreover, if you do not like someone, you can easily kick them out of your virtual world by blocking them.
Studies
Last but not the least, ‘Social Media’ helps us to get better with our studies. If you don’t understand a concept in your school, you can always come back home and watch YouTube for explanations. And trust me, one can always find a teacher to suit their own temperament when it comes to YouTube. Not only does it help you with your concepts, but it can be played in ‘repeat mode’ for as many times as you want. Likewise, if you are getting stuck while making or understanding a complicated diagram, many small videos will be available to help you understand it quickly.
Thus, I believe that ‘Social Media’ is not just about socializing in the virtual world, in fact, it is a great device for education, creativity and entertainment. It serves as a handy connect and brings world-wide knowledge to your doorstep at the mere touch of a finger. I am sure that just like me, many of you would totally agree that ‘Social Media’ is a very good thing and it can be used in the most unimaginable ways possible!
