I think the movie ‘83’ is a mind-blowing docudrama as it is based on the cricket World Cup of 1983, when India had won for the first time. This movie deserves 5/5 rating from my perspective as it is a real story.
The characters in the movie look almost original and the film doesn’t focus on the background of the characters. It shows that even in that time when people didn’t earn a lot of money from cricket, how these cricketers were so passionate and because of their teamwork, they all made India win the challenging World Cup of 1983. Just like every action has far reaching consequences, this victory also propelled many young aspiring cricketers to pursue their dreams, including India’s star cricketer- Sachin Tendulkar.
The thing which makes the movie so capable of impressing its audiences is that today’s generation hasn’t seen this World Cup due to lack of footage but this movie is the total remake of the real matches and shows how subtle ways of Kapil Dev became the major shout-out for the Indian team during this Cup. In conclusion, I would suggest all my readers to watch this outstanding movie in cinemas to rewatch the 1983 World Cup in all its glory.
