On Christmas Eve
“I really hope that Ron asks me out this Christmas.” Hermione thought while sitting alone by the fire in her dorm. Ron, on the other hand, was sleeping peacefully in his room with Harry after checking on the rose he had bought for Hermione. Hermione finally went to sleep while thinking that she would dream of Ron proposing to her.
On the Day of Christmas
The day of Christmas dawned bright and clear. It was a sunny day and Hogwarts seemed to glisten in the wake of sunshine. The day was definitely going to bring in a lot of fun but most of all, it was going to be THE DAY when Ron would propose to his childhood sweetheart- whom he had loved madly for the past 3 years. Both Ron and Hermione woke up to find that they were completely alone in their dorms.
They both ran into each other in the corridor while searching for everyone. “Uh, Good Morning!” said Ron. “Morning,” replied Hermione with a forced smile. Even though they both had loved each other for a very long time, they had never shown it. Basically, they always acted like they didn’t like each other even when they did.
“Where’s Harry?” asked Hermione with slight concern.
“When I woke up, I didn’t see him on his bed. I thought I overslept so I quickly got dressed and came out searching for everyone,” replied Ron.
“To be honest, you always oversleep,” said Hermione.
“NO I don’t…” before Ron could finish his sentence, there was a loud bang. They both started running towards the place where the noise was coming from only to find a completely unknown and abandoned basement the school had.
Scared, they both entered the basement. It was full of spider webs and white sheets covering some statues and forbidden things. As they walked deeper into the basement they found a huge rectangular piece of crystal which was the only shiny object in that dusty place. Out of curiosity Ron touched it. A Iight started flashing out from the crystal on the roof. “RON ARE YOU DUMB OR WHAT?” yelled Hermione.
“Hermione, do you not see it?” Ron exclaimed while looking in the crystal. “There they are! Harry and everyone from our school!” Ron continued in a dazed tone.
Hermione tried to look in the crystal but she didn’t see anything except for a foggy shine. “No. There is nothing to see. Are you hallucinating?” asked Hermione. Suddenly Ron seemed to faint but Hermione caught him before he could hit the ground.
After a few minutes he woke up in his room with Hermione standing right beside him. “Hermione! I saw it. Santa took everyone from here!” Said Ron.
“What?” asked Hermione.
“Trust me we have to take a train to the North Pole right now!” said Ron.
“Well the earliest train to the North Pole is after an hour,” replied Hermione looking at her watch.
“That should be enough time to dress up for the North Pole, right?” asked Ron. Hermione nodded her head in a yes. “Alright meet me at the entrance of the school in 20 minutes,” ordered Ron. After showing the thumbs up, she went off to her room to dress up.
After precisely 20 minutes they met at the main entrance. Taking Ron’s car, they quickly went to the train station and from there they boarded the Polar Express. Travelling through the Greenland Inland Ice sheet, in exactly two hours, they were standing at the station which read- ‘North Pole- Santa’s abode.’
On NORTH POLE
“Where do we have to go now?” asked Hermione. “I don’t really know,” said Ron.
“ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?! We came here because of you and to find our friends and now you are telling me you don’t know where to go?!” roared Hermione.
“I assume we should go to the castle and meet Santa or try to find a way to rescue everyone.”
“And do you see a castle around us?” sarcastically asked Hermione.
“No, but there should be a way! Just let me remember the vision I saw!” said Ron.
Hermione scoffed and waited for another 5 minutes.
“I think I know where to go now,” said Ron after having a deep thought about his vision.
“YOU STILL THINK?!?” said Hermione.
“Just follow me,” ordered Ron.
It was the time of winter solstice at the North Pole and there was nothing but darkness all around. Wading in the 15 inch thick snow, they walked for about 30 minutes but still there was no sign of anything. Just when Hermione was going to shout at him, Ron signalled her not to speak. Hermione was a bit scared but then looked in the direction where Ron was looking and gasped. It was a blind polar bear. It was covered in dried blood stains, and was sniffing around for more food.
“I think it’s blind” whispered Hermione. “Yeah I guess it is,” Ron whispered back. Hermione took a stop forward trying her best to not to make any noise.
“OH MY GOD ARE YOU DUMB? DON’T MOVE” Ron shouted. The polar bear instantaneously looked in their direction. “RUN!” said Hermione after she saw the bear coming towards them.
They started running and as Hermione looked back, she saw that the bear was about to catch Ron. Totally freaked out, Hermione took out her wand and she said some magical words which sent the polar bear flying towards the moon.
“Damn Hermione, calm down!” said Ron while trying to catch his breath.
“I would have been calm if you didn’t shout at me!” yelled Hermione. Ron was too embarrassed to speak.
“Also didn’t we have to come to a castle? Is this the one?” asked Hermione while pointing to the castle with a large door and a Christmas candy on top.
“YES, YES! We are finally here!” screamed Ron in excitement.
“Don’t shout, you are probably going to attract another polar bear!” shushed Hermione.
“Oh yeah, I forgot about that part,” Ron said.
They started walking towards the entrance of the castle. And soon they entered the castle. They were walking around when two elves came in front of them out of nowhere.
“AAHHH………” Hermione screamed while she hid behind Ron. While Ron tried his best not to get flustered.
“You must be Ron and Hermione,” said the first elf. “And you must be looking for your friends!” said the second elf.
“Yes but how do you know us?” asked Ron.
“Santa told us, now please follow us,” said the elves.
The elves took Ron and Hermione into a dark room with a huge screen. “Enjoy!” said the elves before leaving. Hermione and Ron were so confused and were looking at each other when a recording on the screen started playing. It was Harry and Santa.
“To come to Harry and others, the feelings in the sky must come to earth.” Santa and Harry said together and the screen again went black. But this time the lights were turned on.
“What in the world do we even have to do?” asked Ron while banging the door in frustration. He kept banging the door for another 15 minutes when it finally hit him. “I have to confess my feelings to her!” He thought. “Well I guess today’s the day,” he thought while walking up to Hermione who was still working on cracking the riddle. “Hermione, I have been wanting to tell you this for a long time. I have liked you for the past 3 years. You are the most amazing and humorous person I have met till date. If you do not like me back it is completely fine.” said Ron bravely even though deep inside he was scared that Hermione might turn him down.
Hermione held his hand, which made him look up to her. She gently touched his face and slowly kissed him. Ron was in utter shock but just wanted this to never end. They were enjoying their moment when Harry and the others came barging through the front door interrupting them. “Could you guys not wait?!” yelled Ron playfully, making Hermione blush. “Ho Ho Ho! This has definitely taken a lot of work Ron,” chimed Santa as he entered.
“Thank you so much Santa, we had a lot of fun, the candies were delicious and we are glad that the tale of Ron and Hermione has come by at last!” “You are most welcome Harry, in fact love is most welcome. Christmas is not just a day, it is a season of love and being with your loved ones. So, off you all go now and enjoy Christmas with your teachers and other fellow mates.”
So, they all returned to Hogwarts and reveled in a Christmas of love.
