Being LONELY is a Sad Thing

Being LONELY is a Sad Thing

No sane person would agree that being lonely is a good thing. However, many people are lonely, all across the world, with no-one talking to them or helping them. There are also times when people themselves shrivel up in their shells. This may be due shyness or some kind of a complex but the end result is loneliness. Loneliness sure is a sad thing and if a person is lonely, it can get really dark. If you are lonely, you will have no friends to help you later on in life, you may easily plummet into depression, and you may struggle with social skills.

No Friends

Firstly, being lonely will lead you to not having many friends which will be a curse later on in life. Friends can help you with many things, such as mental health problems, family issues, monetary problems, and more. If you need help, a friend is always there for you. But, if you shy away from people and do not build strong bonds of affection, you will not have friends. This may turn into a big problem and you will be stuck miserable and lonely for the rest of your life.

Depression

Secondly, being lonely can lead you into depression and ruin your life. If you are lonely, you will think that no one cares about you or even knows you exist. This will make you feel depressed. Depression may lead to a variety of challenges including suicidal thoughts. It becomes a vicious cycle in which loneliness leads to depression and vice-versa. This can largely affect a person’s social and mental well-being. Thus, one should avoid being lonely and go out to befriend life.

Lack of Social Skills

Finally, being lonely will lead to a strenuous struggle in developing your social skills. This is because if you are lonely, you will not speak to anyone and therefore not be very good at expressing yourself to other people. This can become a BIG problem. Let’s say, you are in a job and you need to communicate with your team. But, if you have no social skills, it will be hard for you to do so. Likewise, there can be so many other situations where a lack of social skills due to loneliness will put you in a tight spot. Hence, my suggestion, dear friends, try not to be lonely.

People who are lonely lack support, do not have anyone to share their thoughts with and are easily led to darkness. It may be liberating to have your space once in a while but making loneliness your lifelong companion is not a wise choice. Loneliness is the worst form of poverty one can suffer and it is better to do something about it while there is still time.

So, get up all you LONERS and find someone to interact with because loneliness is indeed a sad thing.
