It was evening.
I was sitting all by myself and listening to songs.
A Portal Opens
Suddenly, a portal opened in front of me.
I was scared. I thought that the portal would suck me in but nothing of that sort happened. Instead, someone came out of the portal. He was a man in a suit made of webs. He said, “C’mon kid I need your help in my world.” Mesmerized by his persona, I followed him. We entered the portal and came out into his world. It was so modernized compared to our world. There are two words in which I can describe his world- Pure Technology.
I asked him, “Who are you and why do you need my help?”
“I am Miles Morales from the earth 1690. You are from the earth 2023. I was bitten by a radioactive spider which made me-Spiderman. There is a very bad man, Red Axe, who hunts down spider men and kills them. I want you to help me defeat him,” he replied.
“But why am I chosen to defeat him? I am not even a spiderman,” I was totally perplexed.
“You will have to become a spiderman,” he replied.
“How can I be a spiderman? I have not even been bitten by a radioactive spider,” I said.
“That’s not my problem. Destiny will unfold to you, how you will become spiderman !” he replied.
We went together to a cafe to drink some coffee. I asked, “ So, who is the Red Axe and how will we defeat him ?”
“Red Axe is a very dangerous criminal who uses his special axe to cut anything in its way. To defeat him we need to part him from his axe.”
Bitten by the Spider
Just then we heard a large BOOM! We ran and saw that Red Axe, with his large axe, was cutting everything within his sight. Spiderman said, “You go help the people in getting out of this place, I will stop him from destroying the city.” I ran and helped the other people in getting away from that area. Just then from somewhere a spider came crawling on my hand and bit me. I screamed and threw the spider away. But strangely, I felt stronger after getting bitten by the spider.
While Red Axe and Spiderman were fighting, Red Axe dodged Spiderman’s punch and punched him instead. He flew away and fell with thud. I ran towards him, “ Are you alright?”
“Kind of ! It’s time you become Spider man and defeat Red Axe. I saw you getting bitten by a radioactive spider.”
“How did you know that it was a radioactive spider?” I asked.
“A spider knows everything. Now, take my web shooter and mask and defeat him,” he said. I nodded, grabbed the web shooter and wore the mask. And then, adorned with all the gear, I tried challenging the Red axe.
The Encounter
Red Axe came running towards me with great speed. I jumped and used the web shooter to trap him in my webs. Then with one powerful punch I made him fall to the ground- unconscious. With another punch, I broke his axe, the blade and the handle apart. In the meanwhile, the police came and grabbed him. They arrested Red Axe and took him to jail. Spiderman quickly took hold of his handle and burnt it. Then he took the blade to a volcano and thrust it in the raging fury of its vent.
Spiderman thanked me for helping him and the Earth of 1690. As we swung from one building to another, he hugged me and opened the portal from where he had brought me. “This is the way to your earth. Bye Spider man!” he said. I felt proud hearing that. Without realising that I was still a spiderman, I ran into the portal and came back into my world.
It was a completely perplexing situation. I had gone into the other world as an ordinary boy and I came back as Spiderman. I do not know how to get rid of the spider suit, I do not understand how to get back to my orphanage and I do not know what my destiny holds in store for me. But whatever it does- I will make the most of it!
